OVERVIEW AND EXPERIENCE
Joseph Messina was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and obtained his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Tulane University. While in college, he worked as a sports writer for the New Orleans daily newspaper, The Times-Picayune.
Mr. Messina graduated from Louisiana State University Law Center in 1984. He was a member of the Moot Court Board and won the Robert E. Tullis Moot Court Competition.
Mr. Messina is a senior partner and practices in the areas of insurance defense and general casualty litigation. He has tried numerous bench and jury trials to verdict in state and federal court, and is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts. He is also a member of the State Bar of Texas.
His practice also includes serving as a mediator with Mediation Arbitration Professional Systems, Inc. (“maps”).
He is a member of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, the American Bar Association, and the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance (“CLM”).
