Jonathan DeTrinis is a New Orleans native who practices primarily in the defense areas of automobile casualty, property casualty, insurance coverage issues, insurance bad faith and extra-contractual liability, premises liability, merchant liability, products liability and medical malpractice.
After attending Jesuit High School, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the E.J. Ourso College of Business at Louisiana State University with a concentration in Empirical Economic Analysis. He then attended the Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law and received his Juris Doctorate in 2010.

While in law school, he was a research assistant to Dane S. Ciolino, Alvin R. Christovich Distinguished Professor of Law B.A, whom he assisted in his 2008-2009 revision of the rules for Louisiana Professional Responsibility. Additionally, Jonathan was a member of the Loyola Trial Advocacy team that placed 2nd at the LSBA Trial Competition in March, 2010. He was also a Rule XX student practitioner for the Criminal Defense Section of the esteemed Loyola Law Clinic before switching sides and working for the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office.
In his spare time, Jonathan volunteers at the Animal Rescue New Orleans, coaches baseball, and is a cabinet member for the Krewe of Notos.
