David Batt was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Tulane University (B.A., cum laude, 1974; J.D., 1977). He is a former criminal prosecutor and practices in the areas of commercial litigation, insurance defense, trial practice, products liability and RICO litigation. He is a frequent lecturer on insurance law, commercial law and fraud investigation.

Mr. Batt has authored articles for various legal publications, including the magazine For the Defense. He has functioned as guest speaker at multiple seminars, including National Business Institute seminars and training conferences. He practices extensively in both Federal and State Courts in Louisiana.

In March 2006, Mr. Batt accepted a position with the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). ABOTA is an invitation-only organization. Prospective members must have at least five years of active experience as trial lawyers, have tried at least 10 civil jury trials to conclusion and possess additional litigation experience.

Mr. Batt is a member of the Jefferson Bar Association, the New Orleans Association of Defense Counsel, the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, the Federation of Insurance Counsel, the International Association of Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute.

In his leisure time, Mr. Batt enjoys saltwater fishing with his friends and sons.
